It has been extremely hot over the last couple of weeks with temperatures going up to 45 - 47°C in our park (Isimangaliso). An interesting phenomenon is that the elephants are moving north whereas they usually migrate south at this time of year. What this means has everyone guessing. The Umfolozi has been dry for months and the lake levels are going down fast. The shad which were around last month have gone and all the anglers are catching are the rats and mice like the 3 spot pompano.
