WHY YOU SHOULDN'T JOIN FOSAF

If you believe wilderness areas, mountain catchments and pristine coastlines are there to be exploited, don't join FOSAF.

If you're happy that fresh and saltwater fish resources are not under any pressure from pollution, erosion of streams, over-fishing or unwise development, don't join FOSAF.

If you believe that fish are an infinite resource and you should be allowed to kill as many as you can, don't join FOSAF.

If you think catch-and-release is what the provincial police should do when you're clocked doing 180kph in a 60kph zone, don't join FOSAF.

If you already know everything there is to know about flyfishing and fly tying, don't join FOSAF.

But you must join FOSAF if you believe it's worth supporting an organisation that has, since its inception in 1986, been speaking out loudly for flyfishers. An organisation that has fought tenaciously for the things flyfishers hold dear. From leading and helping win the battle over the renowned Cape trout streams, to the founding of the highly regarded Yellowfish Working Group. From its fight to conserve critically endangered indigenous species, to the research done into the zoning of trout waters that has become a cornerstone of the National Environmental Management Biodiversity Act (NEM:BA) debate. We need your help - your enthusiasm - both for fly fishing and for the fish we strive to protect. For you to add your voice to the most powerful voice flyfishers have, by becoming a member of the Federation of South African Flyfishers. By joining FOSAF. Because the more we are, the louder that voice. Put simply, we need your bucks to save our fish… and our fishing for future generations.
