Arthur Cary has phoned in with an update for his 8 December report. Apparently, there are plenty of shad being taken at the moment but for the flyfisher the problem is that one has to find a spot where there is not a forest of rods. Possibly try off the less accessible spots off the rocks or very early in the morning. There have been plenty of wave garrick taken off the flatter beaches and off Empanjati while the Empanjati and South Broom estuaries are producing mullet and small kingfish.

Kob have been taken at various spots along the coast on plugs and paddle tails while offshore there are large numbers of sharks.
