DO YOU HAVE A PLAN? - THAT
IS A FISHING PLAN.
The new FOSAF Guide is being developed at the
moment, and will be published in late 2010.
The subject of 'READING THE WATER ' will be
a major feature of this book as this is the
basic requirement when approaching any piece
of water and targeting any species.
If you are at the coast, for instance, which
is a big piece of water, where do you start
with your plan? What species will you target
and which species are you likely to find at
that location? What are the best times of the
year or time of the day, taking the tides, wind,
phases of the moon etc. into account? What are
the habits of the fish and where are you likely
to find them at a particular time? How often
do we go to the water's edge without a plan
and return totally disillusioned.
With the wealth of information contained in
this Guide you will be able to develop a plan
and derive far more satisfaction from your fishing
endeavours. It will also give you the knowledge
and confidence to target different species that
you have not fished for in the past.
Louis Wolhuter is compiling the trout section
and he has spent considerable time on the different
types of water you will encounter and where
you are likely to find the fish. This will be
of value to the large following of trout anglers
we have in South Africa.
The Guide will have something for everyone,
together with an extensive list of service providers,
where to stay, fly-fishing guides and tackle
shops, and a lot of other useful information.
The Guide is supported by good maps with the
venues marked on the maps.
This is without a doubt the most cost effective
method of advertising and you can find the advertising
rates elsewhere in this section.
