In the Western Cape things are looking pretty normal as far as mid winter fishing is concerned. This means that we are limited to inshore fishing for Snoek in the area between False Bay and Robben Island. The Snoek did not disappoint this winter and numbers of fish have generally been very good. At the moment the fish can be found in the Buffels Bay area inside Cape Point and this area is generally very flat and comfortable to fish. The weather has also been very kind to us lately and it's been almost three weeks since our last decent cold front. This is set to change by Saturday when a big front is due to push through. These fronts tend to move the Snoek shoals around, so by next week the fish would probably be in the Hout Bay area.

There have been isolated reports of the odd Yellowtail coming out at Cape Point but the water has been a bit on the cold side.
